Short version: this site stores nothing about you. The retailers we link to are a different story — that's how affiliate links work — and we explain that here.

What this site collects

• No accounts, no first-party cookies, no trackers. SkipSynthetic has no login, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics or advertising scripts.
• Server logs. Like nearly every website, our web server and our CDN (Cloudflare) keep standard access logs — IP address, requested page, browser user-agent, timestamp — for security and debugging. These are rotated and not used to profile anyone.
• Filter settings live in the URL. Choices like the cellulosic toggle are carried as plain URL parameters (e.g. ?cellulosics=1), not stored about you anywhere.

What happens when you click a product link

Outbound product links go through an affiliate network (Awin). When you click one, the network and the retailer may set cookies in your browser to attribute a possible purchase to us — that's the commission mechanism our affiliate disclosure describes. Those cookies belong to and are controlled by Awin and the retailer, not by us; their privacy policies apply from the moment you leave this site. We never see what you buy or who you are.

Our own counting: when a “Shop at retailer” button is clicked, we increment a counter for that product and day — a tally like “product 42: 3 clicks on June 2”. No cookie, no IP address, no browser fingerprint, nothing about you is recorded.
